WHAT WE DO


 

The Economic Development Commission is your business advocate in Newtown.

An appointed board of nine members working directly with business persons and acting as their advocate.  This advocacy can be accomplished through face-to-face meetings, site visits, public gatherings, email and others forms of communication.

Board members will collaborate with other government agencies and private organizations as necessary to help promote Newtown's business community. The Commission's goal is to build a business friendly environment in Newtown.

The Commission meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 7 pm in the Newtown Municipal Center. The Commission will work to coordinate efforts, provide information about available business services and opportunities and will assist businesses navigate through the permitting process.
